Install Fedora 19

Generally, installing fedora's alike to other linux distribution. It takes at least these steps: setting place, language, keyboard, and network, partitioning the disk, creating user and setting up the password, and begining to install. My foccus on this documentation's in partitioning disk. I just warn you how important it is so that you should take care of the step, especially for dual booting user. Always use manual method to configure it if you won't loose you data.

I'll make an assumption in this documentation. I have dual OS on my system ; Debian and Windows ; and I'd like to change debian into fedora. I prefer choosing LXDE as my desktop environment because from some sources I read it run faster then gnome. I'm going to install it via flashdisk which installer is also available on fedora website (it means I have to download both of iso linux and its liveusb-creator).

Let’s pass setting up the place, language, etc. step and we’re going to create the disk partition. Fedora 19 will detect free space automatically. Just follow all the steps. If not enough space, it'll be caution and now’s our time to customize the partition.

Still in assumption, there’re three partitions in our disk before ; new fedora partition (just 4,2 GB in size), unknown linux (128 GB), and other (90 GB). After choosing custum partition, we’ll be faced to option window. Mark unknown linux (it can be system, data, or your swap), apply the deed to all, and delete it. Now we have 132,2 GB of free disk space. Let’s create some new partition by clicking + sign. For example, I’ll make three partitions here ; 2,2 GB of swap, 20 GB of root, and its remain as home. After done, click on ‘begin to instal’ and just follow the instruction until the installation’s finished.

To begin, just restart the live fedora’s iso and login as usual. Enjoy your new experience.
